Fruta Feia :: Tempting Us With Ugly Fruit

A Fruta Feia é um projecto que amo de coração!
Cresci a saber que comida não se deita fora, que deitar comida fora é um crime.
Não sei como foi possível que na Europa tenhamos chegado a esta estupidez de só ter fruta "modelo" nos supermercados? A Fruta Feia é boa, mais barata e evita que se cometa esse crime de deitar comida fora só porque não tem o tamanho e a cor certa.
Fico tão contente de ver este projecto a crescer e a estender-se por todo o país. É quando vejo coisas destas que me sinto orgulhosa de ser Portuguesa.
Vocês já conheciam a Fruta Feia? Viram a reportagem da sic (abaixo)? A alguma passaram junto à carrinha amarela? Já foram à Casa Independente no largo do intendente?

And... have you heard about Fruta Feia?
At a time of economic crises for many in the European Union the Ugly Fruit movement is a growing trend. I'm quite happy about that! Why?!
 Here's the deal with Ugly Food: regulations in both European Union and the US are based in the mistaken idea that quality is about appearance (standard size, shape, color). Which have no bearing on actual taste and nutrition of the fruit or vegetable in question. Those stringent cosmetic standards are just leading to tons of food waste. Aren’t we taught not to deem internal worth by external appearance? At least, that is what my parents taught me.
 Fruta Feia is tempting us with ugly fruit in Portugal! They're saving misshapen fruit and vegetables and selling them at o good price. I just love this project!

(Sólo la introducción ya era digna de elogio: una estupenda cesta de navidad llena de productos en perfecto estado pero que mostran todos los motivos por los que son tirados a la basura)
Pues mucho me alegra saber que en Portugal se ha criado la cooperativa Fruta Feia. 
Hayas oído hablar en ello (vídeo abajo)? No te parece una idea maravillosa? 
Este proyecto me apasiona y me hace sentir muy feliz por ser Portuguesa.
