Patbingsu or Korean Shaved Ice Dessert

Há coisas que só uma amiga Coreana nos pode fazer entender! 

Via por todo o lado estes "Korean Dessert Cafe's" e ao olhar para o tamanho dos doces achava aquilo uma alarvidade. Ri-me mil vezes ao pensar no pouco que os Coreanos tinham que comer ao almoço/jantar para terem espaço para "mais qualquer coisinha" ^^ de sobremesa.

Vivi nesta ignorância meses a fio até que acabei por entrar num destes cafés a convite de uma amiga Coreana e ainda bem que assim foi porque nem consigo imaginar o hilariante que seria para toda a gente no café se eu tivesse ido ali comer sozinha. Bela figurinha triste me esperava...  ^^ 

Posso dizer-vos que é preciso saber comer lascas de gelo e saber como fazer daquilo uma guloseima deliciosa. Lascas de gelo? ^^ Sim, sim! O branco que cobre todo o fundo das taças são só lascas de gelo. Eu também não fazia ideia mas dizem que isto vem do hábito Chinês de comer neve com sumo de fruta e na Coreia elevaram-no a um outro nível e hoje é super popular. 

Isto é o que eu chamo de "sobremesa interactiva". Porquê?

I saw "Korean Dessert Cafe's" everywhere but by looking at the size of the desserts I thought that was insane. I laughed a thousand times just thinking of how little you'll have to eat at lunch / dinner to be able to eat one of those "little things" ^^.I lived in this "expat" ignorance for months but in the end a Korean friend invited me to go and I'm so glad I did. I can't imagine how hilarious it would have been to everyone in the "Dessert Cafe" if one fine day I've decided to eat one of those all by myself. ^^ It would have been so sad... kkkkkkk...
I can tell you that you need someone to tell you how to turn shaved ice into a delicious treat. 

 Shaved ice? ^^ Yeah, yeah... The white stuff covering the bottom of the bowls is shaved ice!  

People say the early forms came originated from a Chinese tradition of eating snow with fruit juice. Of course Koreans took it to another level and that's why this is one of the most "interactive desserts" I have ever had. Wanna know why? ^^ Just take a look:
